“Do some cardio exercises?” This is among the popular trends that experts recommend when it comes to exercise choices. To fitness enthusiasts or those who put in some workout, many don’t prefer it because of how it can be very demanding it could be. So, why do experts recommend it, in any form and extent? What are the benefits of cardio exercises?

This type of exercise is called cardio because it’s considered cardiovascular activity. It gets large muscle groups running and the blood pumping, so to speak. It follows a top benefit is the improvement of cardiovascular health. Cardio workout strengthens the heart, lowers blood pressure, boosts “good” HDL cholesterol, lowers “bad” LDL cholesterol, and helps in more efficient blood circulation.

Examples of cardio exercises that you can do? Brisk walking and/or swimming, both considered moderate cardio activities, should be done, preferably, at least 150 minutes a week. With vigorous ones like running or cycling, at least 75 minutes of working out is ideal according to health experts.
